And The Winner Of TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015 Is… Agrilyst

At the very beginning, there were around a thousand startups. We hand-picked the 25 greatest companies so that they could compete in our incredibly competitive startup competition — the Startup Battlefield. They all presented in front of multiple groups of industry leaders serving as judges. The startups were competing for $50,000 and the highly coveted Disrupt Cup.

After hours of deliberations, TechCrunch editors pored over the judges’ notes and narrowed the list down to six finalists: greenhouse data sensor Agrilyst, point-of-sale solution for cannabis retail stores Green Bits, corporate finance reporting software Leap Financial, nail art robot Preemadonna, school lunch service Scrumpt and Slack for healthcare Stitch.

These startups made their way to the finale to demo in front of our final panel of judges, which were Roelof Botha (Sequoia Capital), Troy Carter (Atom Factory), Aileen Lee (Cowboy Ventures), Matthew Panzarino (TechCrunch), Brian Pokorny (SV Angel) and Ruchi Sanghvi (Dropbox).

Applications for the Startup Battlefield at Disrupt London are still open for a few more days. Please check out our Startup Battlefield Hub, apply and email Battlefield Editor Sam O’Keefe with any questions (sam@beta.techcrunch.com).

And now, meet the TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015 Battlefield winner.

Winner: Agrilyst

Agrilyst helps greenhouse operators run their operations more efficiently by pulling in data from sensors in the greenhouse and information about crop yields and other metrics.

Runner-Up: Green Bits

Green Bits is a startup that helps deliver point-of-sale solutions for cannabis retail stores in a world where dispensaries are weighed down (in time, and thus, cost) by state regulation around inventory and sales.
