Silicon Valley’s T.J. Miller To Host The Crunchies

The 8th Annual Crunchies Awards is headed our way, and we’re chuffed to announce that the hilarious T.J. Miller, better known as Silicon Valley’s egotistical entrepreneur and tech guru Erlich Bachman, will be our host for that evening, February 5th.

Miller got his start touring with Second City in Chicago, and doing improv at places like The Annoyance Theater and iO Chicago. Since then his profile has skyrocketed, and he’s become one of the most in-demand comedians in the business, being named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” and one of the “Next Big Things in Comedy” by Entertainment Weekly.

Miller likens his voice to “an old drag queen after a hard night of chain smoking,” which makes him perfect for voice acting. He has lent his vocal talents to the character Tuffnut in both How to Train Your Dragon movies and the Netflix TV series, Robbie V. and, most recently, to the comic book-loving superhero Fred in Disney’s Big Hero 6. He’s also been in several major studio films, most notably Cloverfield, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and Transformers: Age of Extinction.

And of course, he plays Erlich Bachman on Mike Judge’s HBO comedy series Silicon Valley. Miller’s Erlich is the quintessential tech bro, who’s made enough money flipping his startup to buy a house, which he’s turned into an incubator for other budding startups. Erlich is best when he’s in a hallucinogenic state, where he gives his most insightful perspective into the real Silicon Valley.

So come watch Miller channel his inner Erlich as he hosts Silicon Valley’s biggest and most prominent technology and startups awards show.
