Recreating TechCrunch Disrupt on HBO’s ‘Silicon Valley’

How did Mike Judge and his team of merry pranksters build Silicon Valley, the TV show? By learning as much as they could about the real Silicon Valley. The team appeared at TechCrunch Disrupt NY today where they talked about replicating Disrupt on their show.

As the video above showed, the team strived to recreate everything about our conference on the hit show. Same venue, same banners, and some previous TechCrunchers. The producers went as far as bringing in nearly two dozen startups that had previously exhibited at Disrupt SF 2013 – of course, a few fake startups were thrown into the mix as well.

Honestly, the end result is impressive. It’s not Disrupt. It’s HBO.
