TaskRabbit, the San Francisco-based startup that runs an online marketplace for outsourcing errands and tasks, is beefing up its executive team.
The company has hired Stacy Brown-Philpot, who worked for nine years in various management roles at Google before joining Google Ventures as an entrepreneur-in-residence in 2012, to serve as chief operations officer. This is the first ever COO for TaskRabbit, which is headed up by founder Leah Busque, who re-assumed the CEO role at the company this past summer.
This brings the number of C-level executives at TaskRabbit to three — Busque, Brown-Philpot, and chief revenue officer Anne Raimondi, the former CEO of One Jackson, the children’s clothing startup TaskRabbit acquired a couple months back. TaskRabbit has raised $37.7 million in venture capital funding since its inception in 2008. In a press release issued today regarding Brown-Philpot’s hiring, the company says it is seeing month-over-month transactional growth “in the double digits.”

“Stacy comes to TaskRabbit from Google Ventures, where she served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, advising the firm’s portfolio companies in the consumer and business technology, marketplace, mobile, and payment sectors. Prior to that, Stacy spent nearly a decade at Google, leading global operations for flagship products, including Search, Chrome, and Google+.
In addition to deep experience on the consumer product side, Stacy held several senior-level finance positions at Google. Her responsibilities included managing the company’s revenue in select verticals, launching international finance operations, developing payment solutions, and implementing world-class customer operations. She also served as Head of Online Sales and Operations for Google India, where she directed remote sales and support for the company’s key customers. Stacy also brings with her a background in accounting from PricewaterhouseCoopers and expertise in mergers and acquisitions from her time at Goldman Sachs. Her considerable international and strategic experience will guide TaskRabbit as we globalize our business in 2013 and beyond.”
