First Round Capital Parodies “Call Me Maybe” And “Gangnam Style” In 5th Annual Holiday Video

It’s that time of year again.

Santa spottings are going down in malls across the country, Christmas lights are hung, and Eggnog and Gingerbread are all over the menu at Starbucks. But it wouldn’t be complete with First Round Capital’s fifth annual Seasons Greetings video card.

This year, the early stage firm with a portfolio including Path, Birchbox and TaskRabbit, is paying homage to the year’s hottest hit singles: Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style.

Along with having a killer portfolio, First Round is also known for its hilarious and amazing holiday videos, such as past riffs on Rebecca Black’s Friday and Les Misérables.

YouTube recently announced the most popular videos of the year. Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style were both in the top five, so the mashup couldn’t be more representative of 2012.

Call Me Maybe is a perfectly obvious choice for the video, but the firm’s version of Gangnam Style really brings the piece full circle with VC Josh Kopelman in the Psy role.

And the tagline reads: “Wanna roll First Round Style in 2013? Call us, maybe.”

Also, to be fair to Alexia, she predicted this months ago.
