Verizon And HTC To Show Off Their “Latest Collaboration” On November 13

Had enough big mobile announcements yet? Well, it turns out Verizon and HTC sure haven’t — the pair has just started sending out invitations to (yet another) mobile event in New York City, this time slated for the morning of November 13.

As always, neither company had much in the way of details to provide, but there’s enough fodder floating around out there to make some informed guesses. Honestly, I’d be shocked if the pair didn’t officially reveal the Droid DNA (aka the HTC DLX or Droid Incredible X, depending who you listen to) considering just how many times the thing has been leaked already.

In case you haven’t been keeping track, consider this leaked photo, these two press renders, and the subtle shoutout as seen on Verizon Wireless’s own website. Oh, and who could forget the Droid DNA’s recent trip to the FCC? All that coupled with the DNA’s oft-rumored November release date means that it’s a strong contender for the spotlight next week.

Should the reports hold true, the DNA should be a hell of a handset too — it’s said to sport the same downright ridiculous 5-inch 1080p display as its Japanese cousin the HTC Butterfly J, as well as a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with 2GB of RAM. The Butterfly J also runs on a Sense-ified version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so there’s a strong chance that the DNA will as well, though I won’t complain if HTC decides to move ahead of the curve and load the thing up with Android 4.2 like the Nexus 4 instead. Methinks it’s about time Verizon got an impressive new HTC device to make up for its lack of a One series smartphone, and with any luck we’ll get some hands-on time with it (whatever it is) in just a few days.
