Samsung Galaxy S II Gets Renamed 3x For American Debut: AT&T Attain, VZW Function, and Sprint Within

Those of you who’ve been anxiously awaiting the launch of Samsung’s sweetest smartphone may have a few new names to memorize. Before any carrier announcement, retailer Wireless Xcessories Group leaked the new names of our beloved Galaxy S II in a phone case listing. According to WXG’s page, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-powered smartphone will roll out as the Samsung Galaxy S II Attain for AT&T, the Function for Verizon Wireless, and the Within for Sprint. Apparently, T-Mobile’s invitation got lost in the mail.

Interestingly enough, the case advertised on WXG’s site seems to be available for all three versions of the phone, which means that they make look pretty similar. If so, the Galaxy S predecessor will be taking its own path, as the original Galaxy S build seemed to differ a bit between domestic carriers. Either way, now that we have some names to dote over, the real question is when the Attain, Function, and Within will hit American shelves.
