Cybersecurity solutions provider Endgame Systems has raised a whopping $29 million in first-round funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Columbia Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and TechOperators.
Coinciding with the financing announcement, the company is today releasing ipTrust, a cloud-based botnet and malware detection service.
ipTrust, which is a separate division of Endgame, claims it is able to distill hundreds of terabytes of security events into usable intelligence and information, helping companies assess the security of their systems without depending on access to internal network traffic, or requiring any hardware or software installation.
ipTrust says it “harvests, analyzes and classifies” malware and botnet samples on over five million systems from around the world on a daily basis in an effort to deliver the industry’s most accurate IP address reputation scoring.
Endgame Systems was founded by information security vets from Internet Security Systems (ISS), which was acquired by IBM for roughly $1.6 billion back in 2006.
